About Us
With over 45 years of experience, Starr Feedyards is one of the largest cattle feedyards in South Texas. Located north of Rio Grande City, TX and about 40 miles from the border of Mexico, Starr Feedyards is operated by Jack Dillon Scoggins.

Here at Starr Feedyards our purpose is to feed cattle intended for consumption. With the capacity to hold 24,000 head of cattle, we are able to offer our services to outside customers. Being located close to the Mexico Border we have the opportunity to help clients from Mexico enter into the feeder cattle business. We offer our personal assistance, including financing cattle and feed, along with extensive knowledge of what is of best interest for each customers needs.
Our feed mill is what allows Starr Feedyards to make its own feed, and make sure all of its cattle get the best quality of feed possible. Feeding is done three times per day to ensure cattle reach their best quality. The feed mill is one of the most important parts of the feedlot as it ensures that the cattle are fed all of it's proper nutrients.
Pen Riders or cowboys are responsible for checking the health of the cattle and ensuring they reach their maximum growth. No matter the weather, the pen riders will attend to all cattle and their needs.
